It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday...

Yes, I am thinking of the Boyz II Men song. I am a little nostalgic today and here's why:

Tamarack Resort is scheduled to close down today. For those of you who don't know, this resort is located in Donnelly, Idaho, where Greg and I spent our first year together after getting married. Some of the best, worst, and craziest memories happened here and we were so glad that we had the chance to experience it. For memory sake, let's start at the beginning:

Greg's Dad convinced us to come to Idaho for a weekend to see this new resort... and boy, do I mean convinced... Greg didn't want to go at first. Who knew that our little visit would have us moving there a month later? We loved that little mountain immediately... here we are at the top during our vacation.

Greg started working for Tamarack early on and I joined up 8 months before we moved to Rexburg for school. Here's a picture of the main lodge.
Tamarack had a ton of different activities to participate in, including biking, rafting, swimming, golfing, and skiing, depending on the time of year.
This was my little office... I handled reservations for the resort. Greg's office, on the other hand, was considered the entire resort because he did many different things all over the place. I could still get lost up there, but it never happened because Greg was always there! :)
Here is part of the golf course (which actually becomes cross country skiing in the winter).

Becky didn't realize the lifts slowed down so you could get off.

White water rafting was one of my favorite things to do up there...

And last, but not least, the skiing was great! Tamarack is where I first learned how to ski.
I want to give a special shout out to my Mom for the pictures of us around the resort. For some reason, Greg and I never thought to take any in and around the lodge. It will be nice to keep them for memory sake.

I know it sounds cheesy, but I'm really going to miss it up there. I mean, there was so much more to love than just the resort so I hope we'll get back up there to visit sometime. However, I will really miss Tamarack and all the new experiences we had because of it.

Love you,
Mom

We read about Tamarack in the paper and knew you would be a little unhappy. It was a special time and a special place. I hope we can visit there sometime.

Why is it shutting down? It's a beautiful place!!!
PS...that's so funny that your picture was the second one. Didn't that make you a little nervious that anyone who looked up your name would see you? That would make me a little nervious.
