Guess Who Is Three!!!!!

Sorry this is late in posting, but my little Parkster had his birthday last week! He is three now and it makes me realize he is SO not a baby anymore!

A couple things about Parker in the last year:

-Potty trained!!!!!!!!!!!! This is probably the biggest thing to mention. Can I just say I love that he is not in diapers anymore!

-His extensive vocabulary: Parker amazes me everyday with his verbal skills. He already talks like a little teenager (not always a good thing... ha ha). I should be keeping a journal of all the funny things he says.

-His interactions with Devri: This is what I worried about most with Devri joining the family. Parker was wonderful with Devri as a baby and now that she's moving around, he plays with her and he can get her to laugh like no one else can.

-His Sweet Moments: Trust me, Parker is full of crazy BOY-ness, but I can always get a hug and kiss out of him, even when he's busy running around. I just love that boy!

Here are some pictures from Parker's birthday. Happy Birthday Parker!

Can you tell what Parker thought of our singing?

Thank you to everyone for the wonderful birthday presents he received! We have one spoiled little boy, but you all know how much he loves you!

Popsicles

I messed with the settings on my camera and forgot to change them back before taking these pictures so some of them are pretty grainy. Still, I thought posting grainy pictures was better than not having a post at all. The kids were eating popsicles with their Daddy and having a great time.

Devri kept going in for more, but made the same funny face every time she tried some. It was probably a little too cold for her. :)

Taking the bite...

And here's the face...

Devri going in for Parker's popsicle stick...

...and coming out successful!

Parker didn't care about the stick, as long as it was replaced with a stick that still had popsicle on it. Ha ha.

Sharing...

Devri ended up with three popsicle sticks and could not have been happier (or more sticky)!

Swings

A couple of weeks ago, we put Devri in a swing for her first time. We were prepared for the same reaction that Parker has always given us... unsure at first then slowly leading into HATE. Imagine our surprise when Devri absolutely LOVED it! I was hesitant to push her too much in it the first time, afraid that she would change her mind. Well, she's done it several times since then and her love of swings has not decreased. I finally remembered to bring my camera last time we went. Forgive me for the plethora of swing pictures, I'm making up for not being able to do this with Parker. Ha ha!

And this is all I was able to get out of Parker, who by the way, will still not get into a swing by himself, at least not happily.

Roses!

Okay, so these trees are in serious need of a pruning since the previous owners hadn't done it this year, but it was a great surprise to see what colors the roses would be since they weren't in bloom when we bought the house! How lucky can you get that one of my favorite kinds of roses happened to be blooming on these trees? I just love it!

Up to my ears in jam!

Most of today was spent making strawberry jam with my mom and boy was it fun! Look at how many berries we had!

Parker thought it was important to have someone test taste the strawberries. He dubbed himself the taste tester, naturally.

Where would I be without my cuisinart? It has been a wonderful addition to my kitchen! A special thanks to that secret someone who gave it to me! ;)

Caught red-handed in the drawer!

Devri put herself in charge of lids.

Let the storing begin!

Strawberries really are the best! It was a wonderful way to spend the day. Thanks mom!
