16 Weeks

Let the countdown begin... or I guess I'm counting up, but whatever! Just a warning to all those ladies who haven't already been through this, but you get bigger faster after you've had one kid! I don't even remember showing more than a little bump at 16 weeks last time. So, here I am now at 16 weeks this time around!

When all else fails, pretend you don't exist!

Parker has a new habit... let's see what causes it.
Me: Parker, let's go change your diaper.
Parker: No
Me: Yes, we need to change your diaper and then we can have some breakfast.
Parker: No
Me: We need to change your diaper
Parker: (see picture below)

Once he's decided that arguing with me isn't going to work, he simply closes his eyes to block me out! I think he thinks that he disappears when he closes his eyes so he doesn't have to deal with me and something he doesn't want to do... and this isn't just about diaper changes. He does this for absolutely everything that he doesn't want to do! Now that I've figured him out, I laugh my head off every time he does it and then make him get a diaper change anyway (or whatever else the problem is). Here's another picture below for your viewing pleasure.

With Parker, there is never a dull moment!

August 8th

Okay, so I had waited to do this post until I could scan a picture of my ultrasound, but clearly that is taking too long and really... it's an ultrasound pic so it looks like all the rest. I'll be sure to include an ultrasound pic when we find out what we're having. I went to the doctor two weeks ago and everything is going well. My due date is August 8th! Lookout Grandma and Grandpa Stauffer, this kid could be born on your anniversary or Grandpa's birthday! Jamie and Preston's anniversary is on the 10th and Jamie threatened to end my life if I decided to have the baby that day... as if I could have any choice when the labor starts! :)  What was really funny is that from the ultrasound the baby's due date is measuring on the 10th (a special present for Jamie!) but since it is so close to my actual due date they are keeping it the 8th.

However, one thing to guarantee no baby on the 10th would be to have a C-Section. Apparently, I get the choice, but if I choose a C-sec they will do it about a week before my due date. Obviously, there are ups and downs to both and I am not making any decisions until closer to time. Just thought I would let everyone know the due date!

Free Museum Day!

Thanks to Jamie, we found out about Free Museum Day in Sacramento! Included in that was the Sacramento Zoo and Fairy Tale Town. The weather was slightly cold, but it wasn't raining so I would consider it a great day!

Here we are at the Orangutan cage.

Unfortunately, the only orangutan out for viewing was this guy. Parker thought he was real and was terrified of him. My dad was too.

Parker still has a fear of large stuffed animals that move... notice how he's eyeing him carefully. Every time Greg would take a step forward, Parker would take two steps back!

Here is Parker walking the crooked mile! He almost fell off a couple of times.

You can't tell from the picture, but this is a giant block of cheese!

Bye Bye Love

"Bye bye love, bye bye happiness, hello loneliness, I think I'm gonna cry..."

Okay, so maybe the lyrics are a little dramatic, but tis the season (well, my first of many to come) where I become a single Mom. Ha ha! Well, not exactly. It's tax season and let's just say we won't be seeing a ton of Greg in the next couple of months. At least he'll have Sundays off. So, Greg's new motto in reaction to his new hours is "early to bed, early to rise." So, for all the friends and family out there, I have a request... please no phone calls or text messages  to Greg's phone past 9 p.m. I would just have him put his phone on silent at night, but he uses it as his alarm clock. Thanks for your help! In the meantime, to fill the long hours without Greg, I will try to take more pictures for the blog, especially for those who want to see Parker.

Happy Tax Season everyone!

The Super Bowl

Well, the Cardinals didn't win... bummer. So, to avoid dwelling on the negative I will move on... we had some friends over and tons of food! It was a lot of fun and we all ate our hearts out. Parker especially loved having everyone there. He was quite the little show-off.

Here are the guys

And the girls! As you can see, my belly is starting to look chubbo.
