Our Little Devri Bean is One!

This is the perfect picture to describe what Devri is like these days (well, if you added a smile it would be perfect). She is so smart, or should I say... tricky. She loves to climb up and into things. It has taken her awhile, but she finally figured out how to get IN the drawer. She knows how to get Parker in trouble already! She's begun the attempt at walking... 7 steps in a row is her best so far. She is still so sweet and Greg and I love that she lays her head on our shoulders all the time! We love the cuddling! Her one year appt. had her in the 25th percentile for her height and weight, 70th for head circumference. She is a whopping 19 pounds... so light compared to what Parker was at that age! Her pickiness in eating can drive us crazy some days, but we are continually trying to get her to eat new things... I still can't believe she won't eat pancakes... who doesn't love pancakes? Anyway, I wanted to say Happy First Birthday to my wonderfully sweet girl. We love you Devri!

P.S. More pictures to come tomorrow after the family b-day party!

Finally Starting to Catch Up

My British Literature class has finally come to an end (I got an A, yay!) so I actually have some time to post something! I'm a little behind so here is what I would have posted on the 4th of July.

We went with Greg's family on the fourth to visit the grave sites of 3 of Parker and Devri's great great grandparents as well as 1 of their great grandparents.

Great Great Grandpa Harling (Sandi's mom's dad)

Great Great Grandma Harling (Sandi's mom's mom)

Great Great Grandma Fafara (Sandi's dad's mom)

This is the kids' Great Grandpa Nelson (Rick's Dad). Here we have a picture of the four "Ray" Nelsons together: Raymond Swan, Richard Ray, Gregory Ray, and Parker Ray.

We also did fireworks, and well... I didn't plan very well for the lighting, but this is what managed to not come out all black. We went to the Williams for fireworks like we do every year. The funny thing about it this year was that Dale and Cathy were out of town! Their son, Jon, joined us so we still had William representation there. The only thing I didn't think to plan for was the yearly root beer floats... bummer. We had cake though!

Marriage and Mayhem

Well, we just got back from Oakland and my brother is now married! It was a wonderful day, but I have to say that I am exhausted now! More details on the wedding to come in a later post, but for now, here is a picture of Parker's souvenir from the day.
It is really hard to tell from this picture, but the red part is encircled with skin that is turning a little blue and the whole thing is puffy. I've never seen such a big bump! Basically, Parker got into a fight with a garbage can made of cement... and lost. Devri also hit her head, but in the back. Let's hope the kids have better luck at the reception tomorrow.
