Holidays and Other Stuff

The start of our holiday season begins with Greg's birthday. I stole the pirouette sticks idea from a friend's blog, but I didn't do all the other cool stuff to the cake that she did. Anyway, the chocolate sticks made it look like a fence to me and I debated throwing animal crackers on top just to make it look like a farm. Ha ha. Anyway, Happy Birthday Greg!

We had to put bibs on the kids before giving them their cake.

I think Greg must have caught me in a happy mood when he got me to agree to running a 10k on Thanksgiving morning! I'm pretty sure my Thankgivings in the past have only been about eating and sleeping, who on earth wants to run?! Well, we decided we wanted to run it in an hour, since we'd never raced anywhere before in our lives. Unfortunately, we didn't bring a watch to keep track of our time, but discovered at the end we had run it in 1 hour and 2 minutes. 2 MINUTES!!!! Ahhh! If only we'd known how close we were to reaching our goal, we could have sped up. Oh well, I guess there is always next year! This is us at home after all was said and done.

In my family we do Thanksgiving around 12 or 1 and this year, it was at my house! So naturally, I had to take the fastest shower ever (after the race) so that I could get everything ready on time. I took a picture of the table before, but forgot to take pictures of people and food... duh! We were so happy to have Cathy and Dale Williams spend Thanksgiving with us this year. It felt so much more like our Thanksgivings in the past because we've spent most of them at the Williams' house! So, a special thanks to Dale and Cathy for coming and completing my Thanksgiving!

And who can resist taking pictures of their kids in awkward sleeping positions!
It was dark in there and the flash woke her up, but that's okay... we had to go somewhere anyway. Love you Devs!

One Terrible Picture

I posted this with one particular person in mind (you know who you are), but the message applies to all: If I post a picture of any of you and you absolutely hate it, PLEASE tell me so I can take it off! Ha ha! I'd definitely consider this making us even because I absolutely HATE the above picture! Bah ha ha!

Happy Wedding Day!

Greg's brother, Jeff, got married on Saturday! This is part of the reason for my lack of blog posts. I have been so busy with all things family! Maybe I will finally get around to posting the rest of our trip to Hawaii. Ha ha! Anyway, just wanted to say how happy we are for them. We love you Jeff and Rachael!

Masquerade!

So, I haven't had much time to throw the rest of the hawaii pictures on here, so here's a picture to tie you over... everyone should have masquerade parties! I think I need to go watch phantom of the opera now... or any movie that has a masquerade in it. Ha ha...

Oh, and a big thanks to my mom and dad for watching the kiddos while we went out!

An Afternoon at the Beach

More pictures on Maui! This is one of the days where we just chilled at the beach. These pictures are in no particular order. :)

Devri got a mouthful of salt water.

This was a frequent position for Devri. She had the hardest time getting up from the sand. Ha ha!

Now Parker has a mouthful of salt water! :)

Hawaii and Greg's Parents

This post is specifically about Greg's parents, Rick and Sandi. They were also with us on Maui and we have them to thank for the beautiful condo that we stayed in. Also, they took on the amazing feat of watching our two children for two nights while we hopped over to Kauai! I have to say, the kids did not even realize we were gone! They had so much fun with their grandparents. It was the first time Greg and I have ever gone anywhere overnight without them. While we missed our kids, we were also able to focus on exploring Kauai and having fun without worrying about how our kids were doing. Thank you Rick and Sandi!

The Family on Maui

We're back from Hawaii! I was getting overwhelmed sorting through all my pictures and finally decided that I would only post bits and pieces at a time since it takes forever to load these pictures. So, this post is just pictures that contain the four of us throughout our trip. It is usually a rare moment to get all four of us together, so we tried to make an effort to snap a bunch when the occasion presented itself.

We took a long road with a lot of switchbacks and ended up eating shaved ice out of this lady's garage. Sweetest lady ever! Her name is Lorraine and these first three pictures are from her backyard.

See what I mean about trying to get decent pictures of the four of us? Parker is one heavy boy, especially when he doesn't want to be held!

Ha ha ha! I had to put this one in here... is Devri a stubborn child or what? It's like she's saying, "I may have to sit here, but I don't have to be happy about it!"
