The start of our holiday season begins with Greg's birthday. I stole the pirouette sticks idea from a friend's blog, but I didn't do all the other cool stuff to the cake that she did. Anyway, the chocolate sticks made it look like a fence to me and I debated throwing animal crackers on top just to make it look like a farm. Ha ha. Anyway, Happy Birthday Greg!
We had to put bibs on the kids before giving them their cake.
I think Greg must have caught me in a happy mood when he got me to agree to running a 10k on Thanksgiving morning! I'm pretty sure my Thankgivings in the past have only been about eating and sleeping, who on earth wants to run?! Well, we decided we wanted to run it in an hour, since we'd never raced anywhere before in our lives. Unfortunately, we didn't bring a watch to keep track of our time, but discovered at the end we had run it in 1 hour and 2 minutes. 2 MINUTES!!!! Ahhh! If only we'd known how close we were to reaching our goal, we could have sped up. Oh well, I guess there is always next year! This is us at home after all was said and done.
In my family we do Thanksgiving around 12 or 1 and this year, it was at my house! So naturally, I had to take the fastest shower ever (after the race) so that I could get everything ready on time. I took a picture of the table before, but forgot to take pictures of people and food... duh! We were so happy to have Cathy and Dale Williams spend Thanksgiving with us this year. It felt so much more like our Thanksgivings in the past because we've spent most of them at the Williams' house! So, a special thanks to Dale and Cathy for coming and completing my Thanksgiving!
