Asparagus Festival

We went to the Asparagus Festival in Stockton today! The weather was really great and we had a good time. We went with Matt and Rachel Anderson.

We were all eating lunch and Parker decided he liked Rachel's food better than ours... he is such a little moocher! Who wouldn't want what Rachel had though.... deep fried asparagus! It was totally yummy and Parker ate all the fried part off the asparagus before attacking the rest of it. Thanks for sharing Matt and Rachel!

Look who we ran into... the Nelson family!

Look who we ran into this time... the Stauffer family!

Just for Fun

We found Parker like this just after breakfast. He thought it was great and kept saying, "ho ho ho!" I never knew santa wore a blue bowl for a hat. :)

Summer Sun Brings Barbeque Fun!

After lots of hard work this week, we decided to enjoy my parents' backyard and, of course, their barbeque! How is everyone else liking the temps being in the 90's in Folsom? Seems like summer has come early and I'm not sure if I should be excited or scared. It is going to be so hot, especially being pregnant! I have to say, my sister, Jamie, is a champ... this is her second Sacramento summer being pregnant! So, that basically means I should shut up and stop complaining! :)

Here is Greg cooking the burgers

My cute cute nephew, Ethan, posing for the camera!

Baby Boy Stauffer was getting a little jealous of his brother so I decided to give him some camera love as well (you too, Jamie!).

The boys playing in the backyard... I have to say, it sure does look nice. I wonder who spent so much time and effort in the hot hot sunshine to make it look this good? (Hint: Two out of four of the people were pregnant)

Preston, the pineapple, and another one of his crazy smiles. I sure love my brother!

The boys, snacking on nutrigrain bars while waiting for dinner to be ready.
Thanks Mom and Dad for letting us invade your house!

Funny/Cute Story

Okay, this is a super random story and may not be as funny without being there, but I'm going to tell it anyway. We went to Lowe's last night to their gardening department and unfortunately for us, there were many fountains on display with water in them... basically, Parker's dream come true and our nightmare. So, Parker is running from fountain to fountain sticking his hand in the different streams of water as we are feebly trying to keep him from doing it. At one point, we kinda gave up and this is when Parker came upon a fountain with a buddha statue... the exact statue in the picture below, only on a smaller scale, of course.
So, he stops at the statue, only to bend down to get eye to eye with Buddha (it was a small statue) and then proceeds to give Buddha a high five and then runs onto the next statue! It was totally random and Greg and I found ourselves laughing pretty hysterically. Sometimes it would be fun to know what Parker is thinking.

Chickens

"Bagaah!" That's what Parker yelled over and over again at the park today. We went with Michelle, Grandma Sandi, and Great Grandpa Fafara.

Easter Weekend (Sunday)

After church, we hid Parker's Easter basket and left a trail of eggs for him to follow. This is the only picture where we managed to get him to look up at us once he saw all the loot inside!

When we got to Grandma and Grandpa Nelson's house, Parker started noticing eggs hidden everywhere! Grandma put marshmallows in the eggs and instead of eating them, Parker threw them to Winston!

Parker and Grandpa

We took a walk around their neighborhood and of course, like every other picture I tried to take, Parker made it as difficult as possible.

Here is the only one I caught of him smiling, but he's not looking at the camera!

Here's the one where I barely missed the smile, but at least he was looking at me!

For those of you who have never seen Parker pucker up... take a look at those smackers!

And this is him walking home...
Happy Easter!

Easter Weekend (Saturday)

Okay, Saturday was an EXTREMELY busy day for us. It started out with dropping Greg off at work and then heading to WinCo for some groceries. Then, I got to haul Parker, his diaper bag, and all the groceries in one trip (did I mention I was pregnant?) up the stairs to our apartment. I made a dessert for later that night, just in time to rush out the door with Parker to go to Folsom First Ward's Easter picnic and egg hunt. In my haste, I forgot my camera (I'm still angry about that) and so I missed getting TONS of cute pictures. We met up with Greg's Dad and had fun stuffing our faces and saying hi to all the people we knew (great seeing you Chelsea!). They had an egg hunt... Parker's very first one ever! He didn't get it at first, but once I clued him in and showed him that there was candy inside the eggs, I had a hard time keeping him from sneaking eggs out of other kids' baskets! They also had real bunnies there and Grandpa got one out for him to hold. He gave it a kiss... so cute (did I mention I was angry about not bringing my camera?)! The Easter Bunny then made an appearance, which did NOT make Parker happy at all! He immediately wanted up into my arms and apparently thought I was still standing too close because he started pointing over to some picnic benches and telling me to "sit down"! Ha ha! All in all, he wore himself out and had a great time with Grandpa!

Next, I drove back home, put Parker down for a nap, and started on the mashed potatoes for dinner. My family decided to celebrate Easter and my Mom's birthday (keep your eye out on Monday for a birthday post dedicated to my Mom!) all on Saturday. From there, I woke Parker up, ran to pick up Greg, and headed to my parents house (with camera finally in hand!). So, here are some pictures of that night.

Parker thought he was so smart to set his chair up on the fireplace! Mommy disagreed.
The boys always have fun with silly Grandpa Stauffer.
Let the egg hunt begin... my Mom found these awesome eggs at Costco that had packs of fruit snacks in them! Considering that Parker, will be loaded up on chocolate by the end of the weekend, it was nice to have something a little "healthier."

Ethan's on the hunt!

Leave it to Greg and Preston to give the boys a hard time reaching the eggs!

Parker decided to make the back of the car his own personal basket... the down side? It was filled with water!

Greg and Preston put the boys on the trampoline to grab the egg that was "hidden" there. Only one problem... they hated the trampoline!

Parker giving Grandpa a little love!
And that concludes our Saturday!

Easter Weekend (Friday)

On Friday, Preston, Jamie, and Ethan, were kind enough to invite us over to color eggs with them! Greg, unfortunately, was still at work, but we made sure to take pictures for him. For those of you who read Jamie's blog, this is a bit of a repeat so I'm going to make it brief. For more details, click on their link on my page!

Parker thought you ate the eggs once they were done being dyed. Here is Parker eating an egg named... Parker?
I love this next picture... Preston is the only one ready for the camera, Jamie looks like she left the stove on, and Ethan finally realized that trying to lick the dye made his fingers turn colors!

Yay for Parker! I introduced him to his new potty today and I'm sure you can figure out what he did in it! Good job Parkster!

Posting Drought

Sorry for my lack of posts... there really hasn't been much going on lately. Greg has been busy with work, especially now that there is only one more week before April 15th and the weather has been crummy so we haven't been out much. So, this post is going to be about summer! We can't wait for warmer weather even though I know I'll be miserably huge by then. I have a feeling that Parker and I will be swimming a lot.

As for my lack of posts, I promise to take lots of pictures this Easter weekend to give all of you something to look at. For now, here's a picture that's an oldie, but a goodie.
Parker has been learning to say so many things lately and everyday he seems to surprise me with something I didn't know he could say. The picture above is from awhile back when Parker first got to see the Sacramento Temple. As you can see, he loved the fountain... and still does. Now, every Sunday when we drive to church (our building is right next to the temple), Parker starts shouting "temple! temple!" as soon as it comes into view. Also, before nap and bed time, he wants me to sing him the "temple song" which is I Love to See the Temple from the primary children's songs. Also, his newest phrases include, I got it, I found it, I did it, I made it, and there it is! He is obsessed with using them and we hear them frequently throughout the day.

I promise to post new pictures after this weekend!

Water

While I was writing the optometrist post below, Parker was still in bed, but I could hear him talking. Suddenly, I noticed in this polite little voice that he was saying, "water... water... water..." over and over again! Poor guy, he was thirsty and being so polite! So, I rushed in to rescue him, only to find that he wasn't thirsty after all... he was reading! He was pointing out all the drinks in the story and calling them "water." And of course, he was more than thrilled when I decided to pull out the camera to capture a shot. :)

My Optometrist Appointment

Okay, so let's just say I haven't been to the optometrist in over 4 years... I knew my vision had decreased, but I didn't know how badly... I mean, the doctor said I was still in the "mild" category, but you feel pretty stupid sitting in that chair with a chart across the room when the doctor says, "okay, what's the smallest line you can read?" and my response is, "am I allowed to squint?" Needless to say, I wasn't allowed to squint and I couldn't even complete the first line! Ha ha! So my prescription went from "wear them only when you want" to "wear them all the time." I bought some contacts, but in 10 to 14 days, I'm going to own my first pair of glasses and here they are below!
