Another One Bites The Dust!

Guess who is getting married? My brother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We've long awaited to see the woman who could tackle and tame the beast and we're happy to say that it is Lindsey Kubo! :)

In all reality though, I could not be more excited for my little bro. David is a great brother and a great friend. It's still hard to believe that he's not so little anymore, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised. He has been independent from day one, going to football camps and EFY not knowing anyone, figuring out ways to get backstage at concerts, and meeting every famous person within 100 miles of wherever he is. He is one motivated guy when he sets his sights on something, and for this reason, I know he'll take great care of Lindsey. I sure love you David.

Lindsey is getting a great catch, but we can't forget that David is getting a great catch as well. The first time I saw Lindsey I knew she was someone special. Little did I know that a few years later, she would become a part of our family! She brings out the best in David and I look forward to many years of getting to know her better as a sister and as a friend.

Here is the happy couple... I love you guys!

Do You See A Pattern?

What do vitamins, baby oil, diaper rash creme, and infant tylenol all have in common?

They are all things that Parker has opened and attempted or successfully eaten!

Devri has been a little sick this past week and I had put her Tylenol by my bed at night in case she needed it in the middle of the night. Well, I forgot to put it away this morning and long story short, I realized that Parker drank more than half of the bottle and managed to put the cap completely back on (probably in hopes that I would never discover he drank it). Luckily for me, I have a HUGE sweet tooth (not always a lucky thing, but today it was) that gives me the ability to always know when someone as eaten something sweet, and when I gave Parker a hug, I smelled grape on his breath. I knew right then exactly what he did! Fortunately he was smart enough to not drink the whole thing and I was told that he would be fine and to make sure that I didn't give him any more tylenol in the next 24 hours (ha ha, like I would!).

My sister, Jamie, and I were talking on the phone after Parker's tylenol incident and we started remembering all the things Parker has done in the past. I don't know whether to call him insanely mischievous or insanely smart, but child-proof caps have NEVER been child-proof for Parker. Just the other day, I found myself having to flush Parker's eyes with water because he had managed to get laundry soap in them!

So, for all you moms out there who have a little child like mine, poison control center will become your best friend.

Luckily, I have only had to call them on two occasions, but they are seriously great! They even called a couple hours later after Parker ate diaper rash creme to check up on him.

I swear he sleeps in his bed!

Okay, Parker is trying to make me look bad on purpose!

And yes... he is sleeping under Devri's crib!
I had Devri in my arms and I was trying to put her in the crib when my lovely son decides to crawl under her bed. Well, let's just say I tried to outsmart him. I didn't want to wake up Devri by trying to get him to move so I hid in the bathroom with her in hopes that he would run on by looking for me and then I could put her down while he was in the other room. Well... it didn't work. I walked over only to find him falling asleep under there! Luckily, Devri has two cribs so I just put her in the other one. Oh well... I think I am going to have an entire picture book filled just with Parker sleeping!

No No Parker!

Here's a little venting on my part! Sometimes I am so tired of telling Parker "no". I feel like that's the word he hears most during the day. But... how can you not say no to things like pen marks all over our couch and a boy that comes up to you laughing and telling you that he peed on Devri's toy mat? On top of all that, he gets a superior attitude and tells me (after laughing about peeing on Devri's toys) that he won't sit on the toilet and then demands that I change him! Ha ha ha... well, he's met his match! He may be stubborn, but guess who he got it from? So, out of spite, I let him be uncomfortable in his wet underwear (as much as I wanted to change him so he wouldn't get anything else dirty) and then I proceeded to eat a cookie in front of him and told him it was only for people who go potty on toilets. Bad parenting? Some may think so, but all I can say is that it worked and not even one minute later that boy had his butt on the toilet!

So, here's to wishing for more happy moments and less "no no" moments!

John's Incredible Pizza Place

We decided to try out John's Incredible Pizza Place on Friday night. It's like a glorified Chuck E Cheese, for those of you who've never heard of it. They have a buffet of food that includes salads, pizza, pasta, and dessert. It was fun and even though I brought my camera, I didn't manage to take it out very much when we were playing games. Parker had tons of fun and kept running around wanting to try different games.

The Devri Bean before we left

Aunt Michelle came with us too. Here she is blocking off the bench seat so Parker couldn't run off while we were eating!

The first thing Parker wanted when we walked in the room was a balloon. As you can see, he's very happy with it. :)

Here is Parker enjoying one of the tons of games he played that night.

Decorating For Valentine's Day

Parker and I decided to do a little decorating today while Devri was taking her morning nap. We cut, colored, and taped hearts all over the apartment. Here are just a couple examples that Parker was proud to show.

Parker (making faces as usual) loved hanging the hearts from the fan. Of course, this means he now wants to turn it on all the time!

We decided to take advantage of the red wall in our apartment as well. See the tiny thing taped on the wall next to Parker? Apparently, that is a rocket ship that Parker made and he felt it deserved to be on the wall with the hearts too. I think the real reason is that he absolutely LOVES tape. I swear, I think he would tape me to the wall if I let him!
There are also hearts taped all over our doors and I'm sure we'll have decorated even more once the day is over. Happy Valentine's Day!
