Big Boy

Parker is always trying to show us that he is a big boy now.  When we're at home, he finds a toy and climbs onto his toy box to play with it so he can sit on a chair like a big boy.  When we're at my parents' house, he goes to their stairs and uses their first step as his chair.  It's so amazing how fast he is growing!  It's fun to see him copying the things we do now.  This weekend, we had him standing up and catching a football.  He would get so excited every time he caught it!  What can I say, he's making his daddy proud!

Be Prepared

Today we went to my Dad's work picnic and the funny part about it is that we went without my Dad!  He went out of town today and we didn't want to miss all the free food we could get at his picnic so we went anyway!  Talk about mooching!  We had a lot of fun and Parker had his very first train ride.  The only sad thing is that I wasn't prepared and I only had enough battery on my camera for one picture and I cut off Parker's face!  Aaah!  He was so cute when they came by again because he kept waving out of the train and saying "Hi!" over and over again!  What I really should have brought was the video camera.  All I have to say is:  Lesson learned, be prepared!

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Okay everyone, I realized that actions speak louder than words so excuse my previous post.  Now I actually have Parker saying some of the words for you instead of making you read about them.  Enjoy!

Please

Parker has recently increased his vocabulary.  It's funny how quickly he learns words now.  For awhile now he has been saying Daddy, Ball, Balloon (well, his version of balloon), All Gone (he just says gone, but he raises both his hands up to show that nothing's there anymore.  Too cute!), and Hi.  He wasn't really saying Mommy, at least not often enough that I've ever heard him do it, but then all of a sudden, he was trying.  He calls me Bobby.  Okay, so I was sad that he wasn't actually calling me Mommy, but happy that he was trying to call me something at all.  Greg made me see an even brighter side to it after saying, "Well, he can always call you Bob!"  I guess Bobby will do.  :)  He also has names for his grandparents... Grandpa is Papa and Grandma is Baba.  Uncle David is the only one who seems to have a name other than for us and for the grandparents... he is Dada, not to be confused with Daddy.  Well, I guess we should also mention Winston (Greg's family's dog)... if it wasn't for him, Parker wouldn't be saying Puppy.  And for Parker's most recent word... PLEASE!  Yay!  I couldn't be happier.  I feel like I've solved a lot of Parker's whiny moments.  In the car today, Parker was getting restless in between the bits of graham crackers I was giving him, but every time he started to cry I would hold out a piece of graham cracker and say, "What do you say?"... and then he would immediately stop crying, look at me, and say, "Peaaa!" (his version of the word).  What a polite little boy he is becoming!  I just love that he is understanding more and more of what I say to him.

Jumper

Okay so random story...

Greg and I were watching the movie "Jumper" at my parents' house today for the first time and we suddenly realized that we were in the movie!  Seriously!  Okay, so you can't really tell it's us, but I promise you we were there!  We didn't know what movie was being filmed at the time, but we were in Rome and we happened upon the set at the Colosseum when they were filming the scene where Hayden Christensen and Rachel Bilson were getting arrested.  I didn't realize who the actors were at the time so it's awesome to finally know what movie we saw being filmed!  We even filmed them shooting the movie so we have it on tape!  Yay!

At Last!

Last Saturday, I was at my parents' house and I was trying to show them how Parker would throw a baseball after he saw me throw it up in the air a couple of times.  Well, I started throwing the ball up and apparently, Parker didn't want to wait for me to hand it to him so he let go of the couch and just WALKED over to me to get the ball!  We were all completely shocked because he had never done that before.  After that one time, it was like he suddenly understood what he was supposed to do and we've been able to get him to walk to us quite a bit in the last two days.  When we finally got home, I was able to get Parker walking on film.  Here it is!

"Take Me Out To The Ball Game"

Parker went to his first baseball game today!  We watched the Sacramento River Cats beat the Portland Beavers!  He definitely thought he was one of the big boys because as soon as we sat down with our food, he snatched away Grandpa's hot dog while he wasn't looking!  Luckily, Grandpa still has quick reflexes and was able to salvage the hot dog before it was mashed to pieces.  If you look closely, you can still see the mustard on Parker's shirt.  At the end of the game, Grandpa bought Parker a baseball and he loved it!  He kept throwing it, which was good that he knew what to do with it, but bad because we almost lost it a few times!  Thank you Grandpa!  We had a lot of fun today.

Parker's Birthday

Let the presents begin!  Parker even took time to read the cards as you can see below!

And my favorite part...Parker and the cake!

After the bath, he couldn't get enough of his balloons.
