On Sunday, President Monson talked about appreciating the time you have now instead of always wanting the future to arrive. He said to "find joy in the journey." He said a lot of things that made me think, but the following section especially affected me:
"If you’re still raising children, beware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled, will disappear all too soon and that you will, to your surprise, miss them profoundly. Stresses in our lives come regardless of our circumstances. We must deal with them the best we can but we should not let them get in the way of what is most important and what is most important almost always involves the people around us. Often we assume that they must know how much we love them but we should never assume, we should let them know."
He then went on to quote Harriet Beecher Stowe, who said, "the bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and deeds left undone."

Do you remember when I used to stare at your pictures on the wall and counter and get tears in my eyes, and I would say "I miss you so much", and you used to say, but dad, I am right here. Yes Sarah you were right there, but as President Monson said we would miss you as children profoundly. Your mom and I miss the little steps you took through life and we cherished them as we experienced them, we have no regrets, but nothing can prepare you for your children to grow up. We love you as adults and love the children you have brought into this life. I can tell from your description of the talk that you have gotten the message. Spend time with your family all through life. Then may you, also have no regrets.

That comment hit me too, Sarah. I got all choked up when he said those fingerprints would be gone before you know it. I am going to post a poem I read the other day too that hit me also, goes along with it. You'll have to read it. Lots of love and I am sorry we didn't get to see each other. I got your text but my phone got wet and I can't text right now.

He is turing into such a little man! It seems like he has changed so much since we saw him last! Hey, did you ever get your ichat working?
