Greg has been posting tons of pictures on Facebook. It makes me feel like a slacker for not updating the blog more often. Not everybody has Facebook yet so I should be better about this blog! So, this is my attempt at catching up with our summer adventures. Here are a few things we've done and hopefully I'll get some others posted soon.
First of all... I have to say that I LOVE Georgia! It has exceeded my expectations and I think it is absolutely beautiful. Trees are everywhere and it feels like you're living in a forest. With Greg working, we are trying to make the most of our Saturdays, by exploring something new each week. Grandma Sandi came with us when we moved and was the biggest help the first week we were there! She helped us in every way, including watching the kids while Greg and I went on a date! I appreciate that so much, especially now that we have no babysitters. Date nights are now spent in the living room after the kids go to sleep. Got to love movie nights! Anyway, Sandi was a great help and we got to explore lots of things while she was in town that first week.
Taki's (like Tepanyaki's) is literally the closest restaurant to us and it is oh so yummy! The kids were slightly scared as usual (with the whole food cooking in front of them thing), but they always say they love it afterward.
Kennesaw Mountain: a civil war site that we visited. Parker loved the canons.
The Varsity: a fast food restaurant that claims it is the largest drive through restaurant. It does seem pretty big. Food was super low cost and it was oh so greasy! Ha ha. I had chili cheese fries. Yum!
Martin Luther King Jr Memorial: We have been loving all of these opportunities to teach our kids about our country's history.
The wagon that carried MLK Jr. in his casket during the funeral procession.
Centennial Olympic Park: 1996 Summer Olympics were held in Atlanta. The kids play in the water and then every so often during the day, the kids have to clear out and they do a water show to music. Great stuff!
