Vegetable Pancakes

Okay... Devri is being a little stinker about trying foods. I mean, I know parents have worse problems with kids avoiding food, but I'm looking for a little advice from those who may be or have been in my shoes. Devri will not touch "adult" veggies or meats (including thinly sliced deli meat). She obviously can't eat baby food forever, and to be honest, you can tell she's sick of pureed foods anyway. Today I gave myself a nice big pat on the back for being able to "trick" my little girl. I chopped up cooked carrots and peas and mixed it in pancake batter... vegetable pancakes! She ate almost the entire pancake, with no clue about the veggies. So, any other ideas from moms or dads out there? I want her to get protein too so I'd love help with that as well. She does LOVE peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Get the cookbook The Sneaky Chef or Deceptively delicious! You'll learn how to use what types of vegetable purees in what foods. My favorite was sweet potato puree in pancakes! It was so good!

Haha, I was going to recommend the same book! I love it. Nathan eats the sweet potato pancakes and banana french toast the most (cause they're the easiest for me to make :) Another hint, instead of actually making the purees, which takes forever, us a jar of baby food! 50 cents well spent, my friend! :)

I also use the deceptively delicious cook book and its the best twenty bucks i ever spent. there are quite a few recipes that are my go to recipes and we all love them. even the beet pancakes are super good.

my oldest was the same way for the longest time and i finally just kept giving her the same food we ate (of course modified for her) and eventually with lots of fits and long dinners she got it and honestly my best eater. good luck!

Kielbasa and Pierogi's should do the trick. None of this "Puree" stuff !
